Deb JJ Lee is an illustrator and graphic novel artist based in New York. Combining delicate drawing, rich colour, and a strong sense of narrative density, Deb JJ Lee’s work builds a distinctive visual world where scenes of everyday life intersect with inner emotions. Moments that move between reality and imagination, memory and the present, fill the frame with a soft yet quiet tension, weaving people, spaces, and even the smallest objects into a single emotional landscape. The finely captured expressions and gestures, along with the subtle emotional textures hidden throughout each scene, form the core strength of Deb JJ Lee’s work. A character’s gaze, the flow of air, and the traces of time lingering in the background all come together as parts of a continuous narrative, inviting viewers to layer their own memories and feelings onto the images. In this way, Deb JJ Lee’s work adds depth to the everyday and gently leads us back to the emotions we may have once passed by, allowing us to encounter them again, slowly and quietly.
